Manhattan Visit

Semi-last minute ended up taking today off. Olessia had an appointment and D needed to be watched. As an added bonus with me having off, we were able to tour a day care. Afterwards, I took D on the subway (which he loved) and stopped in Manhattan. We made a visit at the office to regroup and snack and ideally would have gone to lunch, but D had other plans. So off we went to Central Park to the playground (he ran the entire way from the office to the park!). While at the park, he pretty much ran to where ever he wanted to go and was giggling the entire time. He made a friend and went down the slides together and chased each other. Then hugged it out before saying good bye. We returned to the office for a pit stop and last good byes there and headed off to Shake Shack for lunch. D walked/ran for almost 6 blocks while pushing the stroller. This generated a lot of grins from folks walking by. It was a bit of a challenge keeping him from running into someone. We dined outside in front of the American History Museum. Then headed over to Magnolia Bakery for banana pudding, which he had a bite of and wasn’t interested. D had a blast today. He seemed to remember everyone at the office and had fun talking in English and Russian and sharing his likes and plans. The park was fantastic – not only did he enjoy the large open space to run around, but he now has the strength and skill set to climb and loved climbing the concrete obstacles to get to the slides. And it was at the slides where he made a new friend and could run around and play with.
