Our first picnic as a family! We went to Alley Pond Park which was rather busy. We got creative and made a spot.

It was a bit of an adventure collecting all of the supplies this morning. I haven’t grilled (“BBQed” is what they would say here) since we were in Cleveland. We had passed on all of our grilling gear since we wouldn’t have room for it here in NYC. So I got the miniature Weber grill. It was surprisingly nice to cook on. It’s not going to feed a lot of people quickly, but for the 3 of us, it worked great.

While I was cooking, Olessia was busy entertaining D. The two of them looked to be having fun chasing each other and kicking the a ball around.

We’ve been reading Curious George to D and one story is about camping and roasting marshmallows. We roasted some but D wasn’t interested. Maybe another time.

It was nice to get out today and spend time with family!
