Busy day today… The original plan was to head over to the Queens Zoo. We started out at the NY Hall of Science. (Oddly enough, this worked out in our favor. We arrived during the free admission hour on Sunday!) We checked out the Lego exhibit. D built a race car. We watched a 3-D movie about wildlife in our backyard.
After the NY Hall of Science, we made our way to the Queens Zoo. But first, a moment to rest and make friends…
We made it to the Queens Zoo. First up, the petting zoo. I came prepared this time with a load of quarters. D learned how to load the treat dispenser with 50 cents. The dispenser is pretty generous and you practically need 2 hands to carry all the treats. D wasn’t up for letting the animals (goats and sheep) feed from his hand. He was happy rolling the treats into the pen and watch the animals gobble them up.
I was a bit surprised to hear D ask for his photo to be taken. Some of these were by request and some of these are candid, all while at the Queens Zoo…
This was also the first trip (that I can remember at least) where D requested and brought his camera. It’ll be fun to review the photos with him later and see if he’ll share any.
