D and I went to the Long Island Children’s Museum today. Actually managed to spend almost the entire day there and still missed seeing a handful of exhibits.
The primary objective was bubbles. D made bubbles and had fun watching bubbles as well as popping bubbles. He learned how to pull the wire to raise the dowel to make more bubbles and was quite pleased.
He attended his first theater play and seemed to enjoy it. It was geared for the little ones which was perfect for him. He meowed with the cat and yelled “wow!” several times throughout the show.
The museum had an exhibit on growing up in South Korea. They had mock apartment spaces you could go through. They had KPop playing and several other TV shows going. It was nicely done and everything was hands on which was great for the little ones.
The communication exhibit caught his eye towards the end of the day. He was fascinated with the phones. In particular, the rotary phones. They would ring randomly and he seemed rather hesitant to interact with the phone. But if I picked up the headset, he was happy. This might have been his first time interacting with a real standard phone (versus toy phones).
Overall, an excellent day with a lot of running around, fun, and discover to be had.
