Had a guys afternoon out – me and D. We took the LONG but scenic route to Manhattan. Took the Q20 bus north to Flushing to pick up the 7 train. The treat, I think with the 7, is it’s above ground for a good part of Queens so you get to see little bits of the city. Also, and a bit unexpected, were the yummy smells at the first several stops (think fried foods). We took the 7 train all the way to the end in Manhattan. Got out and ventured NEAR Times Square. We didn’t get very close to Times Square – it looked like cops were checking if you had tickets or something. Plus there were just too many people. So we walked around a bit and caught a train back to home.
D seemed to have a great time watching everyone and everything. He is great with interacting with strangers and making them smile.
Olessia: The Hudson Yard station has an escalator that might be closest to something you might ride in Moscow. It was impressive the amount of time it took to ride AND how steep it was. You really have to look up to see the top…
