I think I survived this test. I don’t know how well I did, but I’m
pretty sure I’ve done better than the previous 2 or 3 times I’ve taken
it. Hopefully I’ll find out on Thursday.

Parked at a 89.9% grade at this moment in the calculus class, I’m doing
MUCH better than I have the prevous three times I’ve attempted
calculus. This test #2 is the one that I’d get back and decide it was
time to drop the class.

I got my results back on quiz number 1 in calculus. Scored 19 out of 20 points. I’m pretty happy about that. One point was lost for a silly mistake. Two of the problems freaked me out. One problem just required me to calm down for a moment and then the solution clicked immediately. The other problem required brute force and a good amount of time. But some how I got that one right too. Just 4 more quizes and 4 tests to go.

I worked late the day before. I checked with my boss if the schedule allowed. I then took the 45 minute drive to the University of Akron and got my stuff in order for fall 2004. This meant I stopped to get my books and pay for class. I made it to the cashier’s line. I filled out my application for the payment plan right there and then handed them the first installment payment. I did this way back in July. Now my account is on hold because they lost the payment application. Grrr. A phone call to a few people at the university seems to have the ball rolling in the right direction. I’ll have to wait and see what happens…

I’m rather happy to report I’m holding onto 483 points out of a total 500 possible points (which means my grade is 96.6%). I just need to survive the 200 point final.

Also note – the triangle app for the TI you see below requires the latest OS for the TI-89 or you’ll get errors. The latest OS is WORTH installing. Its got some really nifty trig tricks available to it.

In a once in a lifetime occurance, I managed to score a 90 out of 100 on my pre-calc test – part deux. I found out from the prof I had the highest score in that class, although not the highest score between her two classes (highest was a 94). Then add on the 10 bonus points for doing the review! I can’t get too comfy-cozy and slack off in this class. Just roughly 4 more weeks!

Ah yeah! Scored an 83 out of a 100 on my pre-calc test. It wasn’t the highest score, a lot of folks were in the 50’s and I was expecting to score in the 50s too. Whew! On top of that, I scored another 10 extra credit points for doing the review. This helps make up for cluster bombing a few of my quizes.

Well, its 11pm and time to do homework!

Figured I get it re-instated since, what? The technology fee is something like $150?

So now I have my @uakron.edu email address. I’ve had it since ’96 and really was kind of missing it for the last 6 months. They also re-activated my gozips web site. That was almost a blast from the past, but it doesn’t have much on it so not really…

It was a great excuse to sign up for another class! So I’m back in pre-calc. Fun fun fun…
